SIGN LANGUAGE SENSITIZATION

Sai Swayam Society has actively conducted Sign Language Sensitization and Awareness Workshops, reaching over 29,000 individuals across various sectors. These workshops are part of the organization's broader commitment to fostering an inclusive and informed society that can effectively engage with the Deaf community.

Key stakeholders and participants have included:

• Delhi Police Training Academy – Sensitizing police personnel to better interact with individuals with hearing impairments

• District Courts of Delhi – Training public prosecutors to ensure equitable access to justice for the Deaf

• Educational Institutions – Engaging students from schools and colleges such as St. Columba’s School, Delhi University, Delhi Technological University (DTU), and D.Y. Patil Dental College

• Participants under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (MSJE) – Conducting specialized workshops under the Awareness Scheme

• Employers of Deaf Individuals – Empowering bridge communication gaps in the workplace and promoting inclusive employment practices

These sensitization efforts not only build empathy and awareness but also promote practical communication skills, enabling a more inclusive environment across educational, legal, law enforcement, and corporate settings.
