SAI SWAYAM SOCIETY FOR THE HEARING IMPAIRED IS DEVOTED TO THE CONCERNS OF HEARING AND speech impaired people. One of our major activities is to create awareness about the importance of Sign Language and about the need for every person to know the basics of sign language.

SAI SWAYAM SOCIETY has been founded by Ms. Meera Chetan Bhatia with active support and participation of likeminded govt. servants and Social activists. Ms. Bhatia has been a volunteer for the various activities for speech and hearing impaired education from past 17years.

SAI SWAYAM SOCIETY for the hearing Impaired was formed on 9th Dec 06 with an aim of providing free and quality education to speech and hearing impaired people and to introduce Sign Language to the life of common people with the efforts of all the likeminded Govt. Officials and social workers. We have been able to hit some of the areas of the Common Public and Speech and Hearing Impaired people.

One of the most important milestone is to educate the parents of speech hearing impaired children, because it is necessary for the parents to understand what their child is saying. If the parents will not have the knowledge then only child moves out of the house and falls into bad company.

Our aim is to educate the Doctors for which we have approached IMA. We would like to give special education to the speech and hearing impaired children at the school level that too the children of class 10th &12th.

Even though Sai Swayam Society has been registered only in December 2006, the people associated with this society have been involved with hearing and speech impaired people for the last 07 year in education, in teaching them communication skills and also preparing them for job oriented exams conducted by staff Selection Commission and Delhi State services Selection Board. A large of number these students have eventually been selected for various positions in Government as well as in private sector.
